The Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe has been won by a number
of superstars and one of the best of those has to
be the Irish champion in Sea the Stars. Sea the Stars
finished his stunning career with 8 victories in which
he tasted defeat only once when badly needing the
experience on his debut. In his stellar career he
amassed prize money of £4,416,708.
His lists of awards are lengthy in which he finished
with a time form rating of 140. One of the key awards
was the European Champion 3 year old colt in 2009
which was followed with the European horse of the
year.
Sea the Stars had so many top performances that included
the 2000 Guineas, Epsom Derby and Irish champion stakes.
However the one which he will forever be remembered
by is his staggering turn of foot when he looked to
be in all sorts of trouble way back in the field in
the Arc in which he put the race to bed in a matter
of strides. In doing so; Sea the Stars cemented himself
as the greatest horse of his generation and one of
the greatest horses in history. The infographic below
