5 Tips for Betting on Football Online
From
Milorad Matejic.
March 2016.
Betting on football, or soccer as it is commonly known
in Australia, is something that anyone can do. Whether
you're a total beginner or an expert in sports betting,
you can have fun and maybe win a bit.
For
some, they wager a small amount in order to add an
extra bit of interest in weekend football matches.
Once they have had their bet there are several sites
where they can keep up with live scores and commentary
or even watch live streaming of the games.
Here
are our top five tips to remember when betting on
football.
1) Always study recent form
Football
is an unpredictable sport, where the team that is
higher in the league doesn't always win against lower
placed teams. Before placing a bet, always take a
look at recent form. You can find out which teams
are playing well, who is struggling, who has the better
home or away record and even which team has scored
or conceded the most goals.
Although
you may have already decided whom to bet on, looking
at the form beforehand may give you a better chance
of making a profit.
2) Work out who needs to win the most
Some matches, especially smaller cup competitions
or as the season draws to a close, can pit a top team
against a lower team.
This
may make you plump for the bigger team, but you should
hold off and determine if that would be the right
bet.
Sometimes,
teams will rest star players if they have a more important
match coming up or may not be fully motivated.
This
can lead to surprise results, which means it's best
if you know the importance before the kick-off.
3)
Remember that you can bet In-Play
If
you are unsure of who to bet on you can always wait
for the match to kick-off. This will enable you to
see who starts the better and who seems to want to
win more.
Although
it may lower the odds and allow you to make less profit
if you win, it can also boost your chances of picking
a winner and placing the right bet.
You
can watch or listen to commentary and then place your
bet when you feel it's the right time.
4)
Keep it simple
This
is a tip aimed more at beginners than the seasoned
professional gambler and it's simply to keep things
simple.
Only
bet on what you understand, keep to what you know
and don't try to beat the bookie by being clever.
It is much more fun if you bet on teams you know with
bets you fully understand.
5)
Don't chase money
One
of the most important factors in any type of betting
is to always bet only what you can afford and never
ever chase your losses.
This
means that before you place a single bet, you need
to set yourself a budget and stick to it. If you lose,
move on from it and try again next time. If you still
have a little left in your budget, you can place another
bet but make sure you stick to your limit.
In
Conclusion
You
should have fun, place a bet you understand and then
sit back to watch the live scores coming in to see
if you are about to be quids in.
